An alternative to delivery portals like Lieferando?

Why should I use another delivery system when I'm already registered with a portal like Lieferando?

Many of our customers ask themselves this question – especially with regard to Lieferando – before choosing eCaupo in parallel or as an alternative. After all, Lieferando is the absolute top dog in Germany when it comes to delivery portals. However, Lieferando's focus is different. The key differences will show you: it can definitely make sense to run both tracks at least for a while and still save money. You surely already know Lieferando, so here are the key differences to eCaupo briefly summarised for you:

eCaupo takes no commission on orders

While you pay commission on every incoming order with all the big delivery portals, you get eCaupo at a fixed price of €39 or €49 per month (plus VAT) and can extend it with additional services at any time if you want to. Essentially this means that – no matter how many orders you receive – you always have these fixed costs per month. With a delivery portal, this quickly runs into hundreds to thousands of euros. That's simple for you to calculate, right? So the more orders you receive via your own eCaupo shop system, the less you pay in commission to a portal.

In your eCaupo shop system you are your own boss

Here too, eCaupo takes a different path. In your eCaupo delivery service system you can set up and manage everything yourself. Prices, offers, menus, items, vouchers, customers, regulars, images, texts, delivery conditions and hundreds of other settings are all in your hands. On top of that, there's a Marketplace where you'll find many more extensions you can install yourself at the push of a button. The shop runs under your own domain, happily also together with your homepage. We set it up for you and make sure the delivery service system runs. With portals like Lieferando you are in one system among many delivery services and are displayed in lists in front of or behind your competitors. That puts you in direct competition. There are no such lists with eCaupo. Your own homepage with your own delivery system.

Does it make sense to use eCaupo as an alternative, or to have both in parallel?

It can definitely make sense to use your own delivery shop homepage with eCaupo as well as being listed in a delivery portal (especially Lieferando). Lieferando is the top dog among the portals; your delivery shop shouldn't be missing there. Nevertheless, especially for your regulars, you can be directly reachable with your shop system and your own app, so that you may save the commission fees on their orders. More on the direct comparison: eCaupo as an alternative to Lieferando.

By the way: if you own a classic restaurant and only want to offer delivery or pickup at certain times, we have exactly the right system for you and your special needs.

Example calculation: commission vs. eCaupo fixed price

This simplified calculation is meant to show you how much money you can save if you – no matter with which provider – no longer have to pay commission. For this example calculation we assume the following: 14% commission, 50 orders per day, open 6 days a week, €15 average order value, eCaupo Standard licence:

Provider

Any delivery portal

eCaupo

Commission

14% on every order

Fixed price €39 / month

Monthly costs

€2,737

€39

This is a simplified example calculation, but feel free to adapt it with your own figures. You surely also know your previous invoices from delivery portals or systems that charge commission. So decide for yourself whether you go with a system that only charges a monthly fixed fee.

But why does eCaupo actually only charge a small, fixed monthly fee?
